Tim is a Director of Evans Doyle Limited and a Chartered Accountant. Tim first started investing in cryptocurrency in early 2017. Experiencing market fluctuations exposed Tim to significant changes in portfolio values and subsequent tax consequences. This has led Tim to become one of New Zealand’s leading cryptocurrency accountants.
Tim has presented on cryptocurrency tax to multiple groups of crypto enthusiasts, as well as being involved in IRD consultations on cryptocurrency tax. More recently, he has submitted several short form binding rulings to IRD on behalf of cryptocurrency clients and been involved in assisting clients with cryptocurrency IRD investigations (audits). Tim also has experience in working with small medium businesses through-out New Zealand (over the past 10 years as an accountant) and in international corporate finance (FTSE100 companies in London).
Outside of the office, Tim is training for the Ironman world championships in Kona, Hawaii, (3.8km swim, 180km bike, and 42.2km marathon run) after qualifying at Ironman New Zealand in under 9:30. He lives in Cambridge with his Fiancé and is planning their wedding for November 2021.
